Description
Daniel Giraud Elliot was a wealthy American ornithologist. He considered the Phasianidae family to of special importance, since they make for particularly good food and are widespread. This work is dedicated to the artis Josef Wolf, who drew or colored many of the examples. Elliot's own specimen models are in the American Museum of Natural History.
